MAY 23, 1937 – JUNE 14, 2024
Obituary
Janice Kay (McBride) Wright passed from this life on Friday, June 14, 2024, having attained the age of 87 years. She was born on May 23, 1937 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Marvin B. McBride, Sr. and Lucille (Lilly) McBride.
She attended Stephen F. Austin University where she received her degrees and became a Certified Public Accountant. It was also here that she met the love of her life and they were united in marriage. His name was Truman Cooper Wright, but was known as “TC” by all.
Following graduation, they moved to Arlington where they resided for about 50 years. Upon returning to Nacogdoches in 2014, they have lived in the Melrose Community of Nacogdoches County. They owned and operated Wright and Wright, their accounting business and she worked right up until her final illness about two weeks ago. She loved to work—she truly was a workaholic. She also had a passion for “sports”…almost any kind. In the earlier days, the family always had season tickets to the Ranger games. She also had enjoyed gardening. TC preceded her in death and resides in Lower Melrose Cemetery where Janice will soon come to rest.
She is survived by her children—son, Keith Wright and his wife, Annita and daughter, Caye King and her husband, Stan; grandchildren, Jonathan King, D’Ray King, Zachary Wright, Maranda and Bobby Wallert, Jeremy and Tasha Fults, Talina Wilson and Caitlin Eckert; and then numerous great and great-great grandchildren.
She is predeceased by her parents, brother, Marvin B. McBride, Jr. and her loving husband, TC Wright.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Lower Melrose Cemetery, Melrose, Texas. Pastor Stan King will officiate and Bro. Rex Crenshaw will lead singing and accompany on the guitar.
Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
